For Hanah: Lance Turner

I know I mentioned him to you before, but I still figured I'd post some stuff here from Lance Turner.  In fact, I found this fun little animation he did that takes you from the original photo through the process to one of his finished paintings:


He works very systematically with the grid, sometime changing up the direction of the information within the grid squares.  The point is to keep the underlying grid visible; to use it as a means of compositional organization rather than trying to hide it.  Think about what you plan to do with the grid.
